The room which FIRE Restaurant is now located was formally known as the ‘Supper Room’. The present room is the third structure built for a purpose on this site. The room was built on a budget of £1,500 and was used as the supper room for the Lord Mayor Initially, later it was used as a cultural centre but it returned to its original purpose of a dining room in the 1990s when it became a commercial restaurant.
In 2005 the building became FIRE at the mansion house. The building itself remains in the care of the state and the Lord Mayor is still residence in The Mansion House who still comes to dine with us in FIRE on occasion.
Another year in business has provided the FIRE team with many moments to be proud of. As we approach our 14th Birthday we look back on some of the fantastic memories from the last year.
Firstly both FIRE and our Sister Restaurant SOLE were the first restaurants in Ireland to be accredited with Failte Ireland’s China Ready Programme.
On the 21st of January, we celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the first Dáil Éireann in our sister venue the Round Room at The Mansion House and we were delighted to welcome a number of guests to FIRE as part of the celebration. We are so proud and delighted we could be part of such a big moment in history.
Our amazing chef’s Emma Roche and Piotr Purol won both silver and gold medals at the Chef Ireland 2019 Culinary Championships in February.
In March we celebrated International Women’s Day by welcoming everyday women who deserved to be recognised for the hard work they do and how they’ve helped others. We welcomed these amazing and inspiring women to an awards ceremony in The Mansion House followed by a celebratory evening in FIRE!
In May we launched our new summer terrace, a summer sanctuary in the heart of Dublin City Centre, adorned with the most stunning foliage arrangement and plants.
On the 8th of July we were very proud to say that FIRE was the official judging host of the World Steak Challenge 2019 with our Executive Chef Richie Wilson hosting the Judging panel as they searched for the World’s Best Steak this summer.
Over the 14 years in business, we have introduced many new and exciting seasonal dishes to our menus but we are proud to have served the best Irish award-winning steaks for 14 years. You can also enjoy are 8oz Irish Hereford Prime aged sirloin steak on our early bird menu daily.
