Why not finish off a day of celebrating Dublin’s history with an evening dining in the cities most historic dining room at FIRE Restaurant & Lounge. Originally built in 1864 as the ‘Supper Room’ for the Lord Mayor of Dublin, later it was used as a cultural centre before returning to its original purpose as a Supper Room when it became a commercial restaurant in the 1990s.
In 2005 the building became FIRE restaurant at The Mansion House. The building itself remains in the care of the state and The Lord Mayor is still in residence in the Mansion House who often comes to dine in ‘The Supper Room’
The building which FIRE Restaurant is connected to is The Mansion House which was built in 1710 and has been the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Dublin since 1715. The first Irish Dáil took place in The Mansion House in 1919.
